The Indian Army and the Royal Saudi Land Forces ( RSLF ) held their first Army-to-Army Staff talks in New Delhi on April 23-24. The topics covered the plans for Joint Exercise Sada Tanseeq, military training and education, domain expert exchanges, and joint efforts in operational logistics.
The Indian Army and the Royal Saudi Land Forces ( RSLF ) held inaugural Army-to-Army Staff Talks ( AAST ) between the Indian Army and the Ministry of Defense ( INC ) from April 23 to April 24 in New Delhi, according to a post on X from Integrated Headquarters of the Ministry of Defence. Dissections focused on the Annual Defence Cooperation Plan, which included Joint Exercise Sada Tanseeq, education, military education, site expert markets, and commitments in areas of common interest.
The statement continued,” Both sides explored avenues of cooperation in operational transportation, field management systems, and market technologies to improve interoperability and capability growth.
Both sides expressed appreciation earlier for the strengthening of the defense relations as a vital foundation of the Strategic Partnership and the establishment of a Ministerial Committee on Defence Cooperation under the Strategic Partnership Council following the State Visit of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to Saudi Arabia.
In a joint statement, the Ministry of External Affairs ( MEA ) noted with satisfaction the expansion of their joint defense cooperation, which included numerous “firsts” like the first ever Land Forces exercise SADA TANSEEQ, two rounds of the Naval Exercises AL MOHED AL HINDI, numerous high-level visits, and training exchanges, in order to ensure the security and stability of the region. They applauded the conclusions of the Joint Committee on Defence Cooperation’s sixth meeting held in Riyadh in September 2024, noting that staff discussions between all three companies commenced. Additionally, both parties agreed to strengthen defense business partnership.
Both parties applauded the expansion of the financial relationship and the new resurgence of trade and investment relations between India and Saudi Arabia.
