Federal authorities detained Milwaukee County Circuit Judge Hannah Dugan on Friday morning after making claims that she had tried to avoid imprisonment in her court as an illegal refugee.
Dugan was detained at the Milwaukee County Courthouse at around 8 a.m., according to Brady McCarron, a spokeswoman for the U.S. Marshals Service in Washington, D.C. She is currently being held in captivity in the federal government.
FBI Director Kash Patel wrote in a now-deleted post on X ( previously Twitter ):
According to Patel, the FBI has just a week’s worth of data that showed Judge Dugan obstructing an immigration imprisonment operation led to the arrest of Judge Hannah Dugan of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, on charges of blockage.
We think Judge Dugan purposefully omitted Eduardo Flores Ruiz, the person who was being detained in her courthouse, to get federal agents to avoid the arrest, allowing the person, an illegitimate alien, to flee.
Patel even claimed that Flores Ruiz is currently being held by the FBI.
Chief Judge Carl Ashley acknowledged the event in an email sent to court officers, and several Milwaukee County courts confirmed the arrest took place at the court.
Dugan declined to comment on the ongoing research when contacted in her court on April 24. The person she is accused of aiding, according to authorities, is Flores Ruiz, despite the fact that no formal details have been made. The 30-year-old is officially listed as being in ICE prison at the Dodge Detention Facility in Juneau, according to the national online inmate locator system.
Beyond Patel’s deleted post, the FBI has not yet released a formal common statement. The research is still pending.
