    ‘Mass casualty event’ sparked by boat crash in Florida

    A boat that had 45 passengers and their team members collided with a boat on Sunday, killing one person, in Clearwater, Florida, causing a “mass casualty incident.”

    The United States Coast Guard confirmed in a press release from Monday that Coast Guard Station Sand Key and several other lover authorities responded to a “vessel incident involving the Clearwater Ferry and a pleasure boat” on Sunday near the Clearwater Memorial Causeway Bridge. One person was killed in the incident on Sunday, according to the Coast Guard, and 12 others were taken to nearby hospitals for treatment.

    A staff member on the Clearwater Ferry reportedly informed Coast Guard authorities at around 8:40 p.m. that the boat had been “hit by a fun vessel” and that there had been “reported accidents” on the bridge. At the time of the event, according to the Coast Guard, there were apparently 45 people on the ferry and six people on the outdoor boat.

    ” We would like to express our deepest sympathies to the loved people of the dying,” said Cmdr. According to Fredrick Pugh, Sector St. Petersburg’s Chief of Answer, ” Coast Guard analytical soldiers and FWC are working to determine the cause of the collision&nbsp, and check the facts leading up to the affair,” according to the statement.

    The Clearwater Police Department confirmed in a Sunday article on X, previously Online, that they were responding to a boat crash that left “multiple injury” with the Clearwater Fire &amp, Rescue Department.

    The Clearwater Police Department tweeted that “it’s been declared a mass casualty incident by the fire office due to the number of wounds.” ” All nearby clinics have been notified. Two of the more severely wounded have been dispatched with various trauma alerts using helicopters.

    The outdoor vehicle that hit the boat on Sunday “fled” from the scene, according to the Clearwater Police Department. After the collision, the boat” came to rest on a beach just north of the Memorial Causeway bridge,” according to the Clearwater Police Department, and all of the passengers and patients had left by late Sunday evening.

    In a “final release” post, the City of Clearwater stated that “one person has died from wounds sustained in the collision.” At the time, there were 45 people on board the bridge, including two members of the crew. Another law enforcement agency has identified the vessel that fled the scene. The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission may be acting as the lead investigator for the accident research.
