According to AAA, the average rate for a gallon of regular gasoline increased to$ 3.18 on Wednesday.

The rate increase will increase gas prices nationwide, reaching a higher level than they did a month before, when it was$ 3.158. Despite claims that oil prices have dropped, the data indicates that fuel costs have actually increased over the past fortnight in spite of price point fluctuations.

Gas is more expensive now than it did on Wednesday, when the average price was$ 3.16 per gallon and a week ago, when it was$ 3.31 per gallon, according to the slight price increase. Gas is significantly less expensive than it was a year ago, when the regular federal oil price was$ 3. 657. However, a significant portion of that decrease occurred in the second quarter of 2024, when gas prices gradually decreased for the duration of the year. The price of regular gas had fallen to$ 3.011 per gallon by December 2024.

Gas prices have fluctuated since that point between$ 3.05 and$ 3.27 per litre. Pricing dropped to$ 3.078 per quart in March before rising once more. Oil prices reached$ 3.268 per gallon on April 4 in the first week of April. The volatility in gas prices is a result of a number of political factors, including the Middle East wars and tariff proposals made by President Donald Trump.

Also, the location of a person’s home plays a significant role in how much gas they spend. Depending on the state and the country’s place, fees vary. The states on the West Coast are now where the country’s oil prices are most costly. The states that are located in and around the Gulf of America are the ones with the lowest gasoline prices.

    AN ACTBLUE OVERDUE Analysis

Mississippi now has the lowest average price per gallon for regular gasoline in the state, at$ 2.669 per quart. Louisiana is next at$ 2.734, followed by Tennessee at$ 2.753, Texas at$ 2.761, and Alabama at$ 2.769.

Meanwhile, the average gas price for California is close to the$ 5 per gallon threshold. The Golden State’s common expense was$ 4. 778 for a gallon of regular gas. Hawaii is the state with the highest gas price, followed by Washington, which is$ 4.273. The next two highest averages are only slightly below the$ 4-per-gallon mark. Nevada’s oil cost is$ 3.842 per gallon, compared to Oregon’s average of$ 3.90 per gallon.
