US defence secretary Peter Hegseth on Thursday warned Iran there would be “consequence” for giving “lethal” support to Yemen’s Houthi rebels.
We understand your deathly assistance of The Houthis, Iran. We are aware of what you are doing perfectly. You were warned about the US military’s capabilities, and you are well-versed in them. Hegseth posted on X informing us that we would give the outcome.
Hegseth’s reminder to Iran comes after the US and the UK jointly launched attacks against the Houthis. The English military launched its first attack against the Tehran-backed group in Washington’s fresh and focused campaign.
The US provided some information about what it claims are more than 1, 000 target it has hit since starting” Operation Rough Rider” against the Houthis on March 15, but the UK provided a comprehensive justification for the April 29 attack.
Following the Houthis ‘ plan of attacks in November 2023, which threatened freedom of navigation in the Red Sea, struck global ships, and killed innocent merchant sailors, the American defence ministry said in a statement.
A swarm of properties used by the Houthis to build robots of the kind used to harm ships in the Red Sea and Gulf of Aden, located about fifteen miles north of Sanaa, was added as a result of a cautious intelligence research. The targets had been executed with the least amount of harm to civilians or non-military equipment when extremely careful plotting had been put into place. The attack was carried out after dark as a precaution because it decreased the likelihood of any civilians entering the area more.
The UK Royal Air Force’s Typhoon FGR4s carried out the combined attacks.
