Elon Musk, the head of the Trump administration’s Department of Government Efficiency ( DOGE ), reported that he had saved more than$ 160 billion while working from a small office, working late at night, and maintaining a close relationship with President Donald Trump as the Trump administration rolled into its 100th day.
Musk revealed that he had slept in the White House’s Lincoln home numerous times while giving a sneak peek of his first 100 days as a specific government staff on Wednesday night.
The president said,” We’re good friends, and we’ll be on Air Force One, or Marine One, and he’ll say,” Do you want to stay over?” and I’ll be like,” sure,” and he’ll take me to the Lincoln bedroom.
He also revealed that Trump showed him the Lincoln bedroom and explained the entire history to him.
” And then, he’ll actually call me late at night and say,” by the way, make sure you get ice cream from the kitchen,” Musk recalled. I consumed a tub of caramel-flavored ice cream. Häagen-Dazs”. It’s epic, yes, murmured the joke.
Musk lamented,” Don’t tell RFK that I ate a whole tub.” The president is a very good host, and I said” OK,” and he said, “make sure you have some of the ice cream.” I whipped up some ice cream in the kitchen.”
According to Office of Government Ethics records, his position allowed for” no more than 130 days in a 365-day period” of government employment. Musk described the initial period as particularly difficult, frequently necessitating his presence in Washington, DC. ” 7 days a week, or close to 7 days a week,” you say.
Like my absurdly small office upstairs.
Musk revealed that he was given a small office in the White House, which he intended to keep while serving as the DOGE chief.
Musk stated,” I’m keeping my micro-office.” According to Musk, who gave an inside look at the room, the room is on the top floor and has a window, but it is not of use because one can only see the HVAC unit. There is not a good line of sight in there, so I guess it’s harder to shoot me.
Musk remarked,” I like my comically tiny office upstairs,” adding that despite being tiny, he has” the biggest monitor” for viewing “important information—secret stuff.” However, Musk acknowledged that he “occasionally played a video game.”
” We are just Democrats from the 1990s who were teleported into 2025,” the statement read.
Regarding DOGE, Musk applauded their accomplishments while rejoicing that they haven’t reached the desired level of effectiveness.
Musk compared Clinton-Gore speeches to DOGE’s messaging, drawing similarities between the two. He noted that because of their similarity, it would be difficult to tell the difference between Clinton-Gore’s statements and DOGE’s transcripts.
He described their group as “90s Democrats transported to 2025” for the time.
Musk went on to explain how the political landscape had changed, claiming that the Democratic Party had shifted away from their positions rather than the other way around. He emphasized that their main goals are safe cities, secure borders, and prudent spending, which he described as previously Democratic positions that represent common sense.
In his first 100-day period, Musk outlined the need for intense engagement in the first quarter to comprehend and outline governmental operations.
He explained that team building initiatives and understanding the complex federal government structure required three months of concentrated effort.
