Some House Democrats vehemently opposed Shri Thanedar’s articles of impeachment against President Donald Trump. They were primarily involved in the prosecution investigation because they co-sponsored the resolution.
Reps. Kweisi Mfume ( Maryland ), Robin Kelly ( Illinois ), and Jerry Nadler ( New York ) had signed on as co-sponsors of Rep. Shri Thanedar’s (D-Mich. ) impeachment resolution, which includes seven articles of impeachment, but on Tuesday afternoon they went to the House floor and requested that their names be removed from the legislation. The House assistant granted their demand.
The reason for their removal revealed a peculiar feature of the Thanedar prosecution articles. Congressman Mfume resigned from his position as a sponsor of H. Res. 353 because he preferred to err on the side of caution and was made informed it was not fully vetted by Democratic administration and constitutionally vetted, according to the Mfume director.
The Congresswoman’s director echoed Kelly’s claim that the solution was initially approved during a floor vote set and that it had been approved and reviewed by both the House Judiciary Committee and Leadership.

Thanedar said he does not speak for the behavior of other people after the co-sponsors ‘ names were removed. Trump, he said, “is doing this because he has flagrantly violated the Constitution.” Rep. Pete Aguilar ( Calif. ), the chair of the House Democratic Caucus, said that trying to remove Trump from office “is not an exercise the party is willing to do because the GOP is in the total control of Congress.”
