Chandra Holt, who was once regarded as one of the most appealing managers in American retail, is now the subject of a business scandal involving Ashley Buchanan, a reported former romantic partner, and her former Walmart coworker.
After the organization accused him of architectural a vendor package riddled with “undisclosed conflicts of interest,” Buchanan was fired as CEO of Kohl’s this year.
In accordance with a registration with the US Securities and Exchange Commission, Buchanan ordered Kohl’s to agree to a multimillion-dollar deal with a supplier that supposedly had “highly dubious” and “favorable” conditions. The lady was identified as Chandra Holt, but the processing did not name the vendor or the person involved.
Allen answers in a manner that is acceptable.
Allen confirmed to The Journal that she had known Buchanan for ten years, but she also denied any organization crime. Ashley Buchanan and I have been friends for ten years, but she claims Kohl’s has never given me any money for our Incredibrew company.
Incredibrew, a caffeine company that she launched in 2022 and claims to instill beverages with vitamins and minerals, was founded and led by Holt. Whether Incredibrew was the contractor involved in the under investigation Kohl’s deal is still undetermined.
Business ties and a shared history
Before moving on to other administrative positions, Buchanan and Holt first met at Walmart, where they had a close relationship. Allen left in 2021 to be CEO of Conn’s HomePlus, while Buchanan left in the early 2020s to take over Michael ‘ arts-and-crafts business.

The business announced plans to close more than two dozen of its underperforming stores and reported a 7.2 % decline in annual sales to$ 5.4 billion. The fire had serious consequences: Buchanan must now renounce all capital awards he was given during his career and pay a part of his$ 2.5 million signing bonus on time.
Kohl’s emphasized that the CEO’s resignation had” no holding on the company’s financial performance,” but the tragedy adds uncertainty to a business that is already dealing with administration volatility. Following the short-lived stints of Michelle Gass and Tom Kingsbury, Bucanan was the next CEO in as many times.
What comes next for Allen?
Holt’s name is then linked to a boardroom row that might impede her professional career despite no official allegations against her.
