Canada continues to welcome qualified refugees, but only with limited access. Through a Provincial Nominee Program ( PNP)-specific draw on April 28, Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada ( IRCC ) issued 421 Invitations to Apply ( ITAs ) with a minimum Comprehensive Ranking System ( CRS ) score of 727. According to CIC News, candidates were required to submit their Express Entry characteristics by September 9 at 5:11 PM UTC.
Following the April 14 square, which saw 825 ITAs with a higher CRS cut-off of 764, this is the second PNP-focused pick in April. As Canada considers its immigration priorities for 2025, it indicates that statewide nominees will continue to be a top priority.
31 929 ITAs have been issued so far this year, primarily to candidates who are French- or PNP-speaking. Notably, no Canadian Experience Class ( CEC ) rounds or general draws were held in April. The president’s move toward targeted, category-based selections was highlighted by the recent CEC-specific bring that took place on February 5.
Canada’s wider immigration strategy is still optimistic. This year, the Immigration Levels Plan will welcome 395, 000 new lasting people, with 232, 150 areas being reserved for financial immigrants, including those who use the Express Entry program.
The software also includes family members, families, common-law companions, and dependant children in the PR program for successful applicants. Eventually, parents and kids may be sponsored or invited through the Super Visa system.
