According to a new report, Federal Bureau of Investigation ( FBI ) Special Agent in Charge Elvis Chan has been taken on “terminal leave” after allegedly serving as the “main censorship liaison” between the FBI and social media companies during the 2020 presidential election cycle.
Independent journalist Breanna Morello, who shared a photo of Chan in a blog on X, previously Online, wrote: “FBI Assistant Special Agent in Charge Elvis Chan has been placed on’terminal left’ and has not accessed his organization products for over a month, resources confirm.”
Before the 2020 presidential election, Chan served as the FBI’s Foreign Influence Task Force’s key censorship contact with social media platforms, according to Morello.
According to The Post Millennial, Chan would have been in charge of helping to emblem information that the FBI considered to be “misinformation” as the “liaison” between social media companies and the FBI’s Foreign Influence Task Force.
According to Morello, Chan’s LinkedIn page also lists him as the Assistant Special Agent in Charge at the FBI’s San Francisco Bay Area industry department, despite sources claiming that Chan had been given a “terminal left” contract. Morello claims Chan has worked for the FBI for more than 19 times.
The House Judiciary Committee sued the FBI last year for allegedly obstructing the agency’s investigation into the government’s reported repression of social media content by failing to comply with a deposition summons, and Chan’s reported exit from the FBI follows that lawsuit, according to Morello.

In its analysis of government repression in cooperation with social media companies, the House Judiciary Committee at the time described Chan as a “pivotal determine.” Chan described himself as “one of the main people with pass-through details,” which the businesses used to decide whether to limit online content, according to the House Judiciary Committee.
The House’s Office of General Counsel wrote,” Chan has violated and continues to offend his constitutional responsibility by refusing to appear before the Judiciary Committee,” in response to Chan’s refusal to comply with the summons.
In a national event involving the government’s control over the repression of content on social media, Chan also testified in Missouri v. Biden, according to Morello. Morello pointed out that Chan claimed during a deposition in the case that he had” no internal knowledge” of the FBI’s investigation into the Hunter Biden laptop story during the 2020 presidential election.
In the run-up to the 2020 presidential election, the FBI held more than 30 discussions with Twitter and various social media platforms, according to The Post Millennial.
