Warren Buffett announced his intention to step down as CEO at the end of 2025 to finish a 60-year job that would have produced one of the best purchase records of all time.

Buffett made the unexpected news at the close of the business ‘s&nbsp, monthly shareholder meeting on Saturday, stating that it would surprise the majority of the table and Abel.

According to Buffett,” the time has come for Greg to take over as the company’s chief executive officer at the end of the year.”

Buffett stated that Abel did make final decisions if he were to remain and help with anything else that he might be able to help with, such as significant acquisitions or exciting opportunities. Following the announcement, the tens of thousands of Berkshire owners in presence, including Abel, gave Buffett a standing ovation.

The famous investor weighed in on a number of topics, including Berkshire’s big money position, tariffs, and the continuing trade war, as well as the new volatility in the market, starting with Buffett answering shareholder questions for more than four hours.

What can be learned from the Berkshire Hathaway annual conference in particular?

Buffett’s main findings from the annual conference of Berkshire Hathaway

    1. At the end of 2025, Buffett will resign as CEO.

Although he turns 95 years older in August, Buffett’s surprise announcement that he plans to step down as CEO at the end of the time may not seem that startling, but it marks the end of a time when he accumulated enormous success for Berkshire owners and served as a wise consultant to world leaders, Directors, and regular buyers.

” There’s not been people like Warren, and many people, including myself, have been inspired by his wisdom,” according to Apple CEO Tim Cook in an a&nbsp, article on X. ” To hear him has been one of my greatest privileges.”

The phone manufacturer’s largest stake in Berkshire’s purchase portfolio is$ 500,000.

By investing and refining the money that Berkshire’s jute factories produced, Buffett took command of the struggling cotton industry and transformed it into a sizable company. Berkshire now has a market value of$ 1.16 trillion, making it one of the world’s most valuable companies. Additionally, its Class A&nbsp, shares&nbsp closed at an all-time high of$ 809, 350 on Friday.

Buffett stated following his news,” That’s the media wire for the day.” ” Thanks for coming,”

    2. Trump tariffs and trade war are never a fan for Buffett, according to him.

The investor meeting was also the first time that Buffett addressed the subject of taxes and global trade, which have enraged investors in recent days.

Buffett said,” In the United States, I mean we should be looking to trade with the rest of the world, and we should do what we do best, and they should do what they do ideal.” ” Trade shouldn’t be a tool.”

Buffett also argued that a higher level of international commerce would result in greater peace and stability.

” I don’t think it’s a great idea to try to design a world where a dozen countries say “ha-ha-ha, we’ve won,” and other places are envious,” he said, adding that with eight countries with nuclear weapons, including a few that I would describe as very fragile.

    3. Current market volatility is” zero”.

Buffett was questioned about whether Berkshire, which has a mountain of almost$ 350 billion in cash, has had more investment opportunities as a result of recent market volatility and the trade uncertainty.

The subsequent decline in share prices is “really nothing,” Buffett claimed. There hasn’t been a significant keep industry or similar phenomenon here.

You need to adopt a slightly different investment philosophy, Buffett said, if it matters to you whether your stocks are down 15 % or not. Citizens have feelings, but you’ve got to check them out when you invest.

    4. Rarely do excellent investment possibilities arise.

Owners even inquired about the common prospects for putting that money to use given Berkshire’s substantial cash position.

The one issue with the purchase industry is that things always go wrong, and that’s true of everything, Buffett said. ” We’re operating a very, very, very opportunistic business.”

Buffett has allowed Berkshire’s money place to grow in recent years because he’s struggled to find&nbsp, investments&nbsp, he deems&nbsp, beautiful.

By not wanting to become fully invested at all times,” we have made a lot of money,” Buffett said. Things “get incredibly attractive quite occasionally.”

    5. Avoid obtrusive business prediction

Buffett also criticised business analysts, a practice he believes is pointless and distracts from what matters in business and investment.

No one is certain what the business will do tomorrow, the following month, or the following month, according to Buffett. However, some people” spent all their time talking about it because it has no significance and is easy to talk about.” I’ve not heard anything that made me want to listen to on the subject.
