
According to police sources, 11 alleged teen Tren de Aragua gang members attacked two New York Police Department ( NYPD ) officers in Times Square on Friday, causing a manhunt for the suspects.
Police options confirmed to Fox News that five of the suspects in the police invasion have been detained and identified as illegitimate Venezuelan immigrants. The teen group members allegedly threw basketballs, glass containers, and rocks at the NYPD officers who were assisting in a robbery on Friday.
According to Fox News, authorities said one of the suspects is facing assault and mob charges as an adult while the youngest suspect in the attack on Friday is only 12 years old.
Mayor of New York City Eric Adams said,” It’s tragic enough to be a victim of a murder,” during a media briefing on Tuesday. However, it is unacceptable when people publicly assaults a police officer because you are inflicting this on our national symbol of safety.
The” disturbing event” occurred in Times Square on Friday, according to NYPD Commissioner Jessica Tisch, and occurred on Friday at around 7: 30 PM. According to Tisch, the soldiers “reported about 10 to 12 people beginning to encircle three people.”

Within days of the invasion, Tisch made the announcement that police on Friday identified several suspects as people of a “violent class known as Los Diablos de 42, a set of Tren de Aragua.”
Homeland Security Assistant Secretary Tricia McLaughlin stated in a blog on X that law enforcement agencies may “hunt down these fools and they will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law” when it comes to the suspects who have not yet been detained by law enforcement. According to McLaughlin, Kristi Noem, the director of the Homeland Security Department, will” not stand idly by as our valiant legislation enforcement is attacked.”
