    United Nations authorities said on Thursday that Mali’s disqualification of political events ‘ actions is a violation of fundamental human rights and must be immediately overturned. In response to opposition protests against the defense government’s relentless crackdown on dissent, the ruling junta of the Sahel nation on Wednesday suspended political parties ‘ activities “until further notice for reasons of public get.” It is the most recent act of oppression of dissident voices in the west African nation’s now shrinking civic room, which has been under military rule since two coups in 2020 and 2021.
