US official Marjorie Taylor Greene announced she will never challenge Democrat Senator Jon Ossoff in Georgia’s 2026 Senate race, a determination that eases problems for some Republicans afraid of her polarising picture. In a blog on X on Friday, Greene rejected problems from GOP donors and experts who warned she may alienate moderate Republicans and independents essential to essay Ossoff. While calling Ossoff an “easy ” opponent, she said her refusal stems from frustration with the Senate itself, which she described as ineffective and resistant to change. “ Here’s the hard truth: the Senate does n’t work, ” Greene wrote. “It’s designed to hinder the will of the citizens and protect the Uniparty’s grip on power. ”Greene, a nearby supporter of US President Donald Trump, even criticised her own party, saying several elected Democrats are controlled by donors and specialists who “don’t like change. ”

She added, “ I won’t fight for a team that refuses to win, that protects its weakest people, and that affects the very people it ’s supposed to serve. ”Greene’s decision follows Democrat Governor Brian Kemp’s news earlier in the week that he, also, may not provide the Senate race.
