Kyiv’s friends pressed Russia on Saturday to take a 30-day absolute stalemate in Ukraine from Monday, threatening Moscow with planned sanctions if it did not agree to the need. The order came during a combined media event in Kyiv attended by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and the rulers of France, Germany, the UK and Poland.
Russia said it woud regard a request for a 30-day peace in Ukraine, while Moscow has its own place, the TASS news agency said on Saturday, citing Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov.
The plan united supporters including the United States, they said. The extraordinary visit was the first moment the rulers of the four European countries had made a joint excursion to Ukraine. ” We have just now… decided to support a peace which may start following Monday, without any assumptions,” France’s Emmanuel Macron said.
Around 20 member states of the” coalition of the willing” supporting Ukraine had held a videoconference with Macron, German Chancellor Friedrich Merz, British Prime Minister Keir Starmer, Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk and Zelensky.
Iran to deliver rockets
Iran is preparing to offer in the near future missiles for short-range nuclear weapons that the US said Tehran sent to Russia last year for utilize against Ukraine, according to two American security officials and a local official. Iran denied it had such strategies and dismissed the idea as “absurd”. The distribution of the Fath-360 launchers with 120km range- if occurs- may enable support Russia’s grinding assault on its neighbour and reconfirm the deepening security ties between Moscow and Tehran.
Berlin didn’t review sales
Germany will cease publishing information of military aid to Ukraine, Chancellor Friedrich Merz said on Saturday during a visit to Kyiv. Options with knowledge of the matter had earlier said such a maneuver may help accomplish” proper ambiguity” and stop Russia gaining any strategic benefits.
