In response to the business war with the United States, China met with Latin American leaders in Beijing on Monday to discuss a major conference. In response to US President Donald Trump’s subsequent storm of taxes, Beijing has increased its economic and political cooperation with Latin American nations. Brazil, Peru, and Chile are among the countries that have joined Beijing’s trillion-dollar Belt and Road ( BRI ) infrastructure program, and China has surpassed the US as its biggest trading partner. On Tuesday, the forum between China and the 33-member Community of Latin American and Caribbean States ( CELAC ) will officially begin. Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula de Silva, who arrived in Beijing on Saturday for a five-day state visit, has already begun to welcome local officials, including Portuguese President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva.

Since coming to power in first 2023, Lula has attempted to strengthen relationships with both China and the US. According to the United Nations Comtrade Database, Brazilian exports to China totaled more than$ 94 billion last year. The South American agricultural large sells electronics, phone, cars, and drugs to Brazil while the South American agricultural energy mostly exports soybeans and other main commodities to China. Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi held a conversation with Bruno Rodriguez Parrilla’s Caribbean rival at Beijing’s renown Diaoyutai State Guesthouse on Monday. Colombia’s President Gustavo Petro and Chile’s President Gabriel Boric are among the expected speakers at the conference. Petro indicated last week that he would mark a “letter of intent” to meet the BRI when he meets with Xi Jinping, the leader of China, in the upcoming weeks. According to Beijing’s foreign ministry, Xi will solve the summit’s opening ceremony on Tuesday. Beijing “always approached the development of China-Latin America ties from a proper and long-term view,” according to a senior government official on Sunday. At a press conference, Miao Deyu stated,” People of Latin America and the Caribbean want to create their own land, not the garden of any other nation.” In response to US tariffs, China “willing to improve communication and coordination with Latin American countries,” according to Miao, and” jointly job to… oppose unilateralism and economic bullying.”
