A European help firm reported that two children, ages 3 and 4, and an adult died while sailing on a frail boat from Libya to Italy on the Mediterranean. The body of the dying workers have been brought to get on Lampedusa, according to the German help firm RESQSHIP on Sunday. The German-based organization for water save claimed to have rescued 59 victims from the same ship. What are our current knowledge of the incident? On a plastic boat that was adrift north of Lampedusa on Saturday, the migrants were taken. RESQSHIP reports that the ship’s engine failed immediately after it took off from eastern Libya on Wednesday, leaving those on board barren and exposed to the weather and tide aspects for an extended period. It was too late to assist some of the people by the time we reached the rubber boat at around 4.30 p.m. ( 1430 GMT/UTC ), according to a statement from RESQSHIP. One of its doctors quoted by the charity as saying,” Two body of kids aged 3 and 4 were handed over to us.” When firefighters arrived on the scene, a man was unconscious and the day before had died, perhaps from thirst. He was afterwards declared dying after fruitless attempts to revive him, according to RESQSHIP. Many of the rescued workers experienced serious injuries, including substance fires from salt water and energy.
Mediterranean passing becomes more and more dangerous
Lampedusa is the first port of call for some migrants seeking to travel to Europe, between Tunisia, Malta, and Sicily, which is larger than Silesia. Over the past ten years, the Mediterranean’s route has become dangerous. According to the International Organization for Migration, about 25, 000 migrants have died or vanished while trying to cross from North Africa to Europe since 2014, including 378 so far this year and around 1,700 last month. Partnerships between the EU and Libya in 2017 and the EU and Tunisia in 2023 were brokered to lessen movement and the numerous Mediterranean incidents. The agreements stipulated that border protection may be taken over by the coastguards of both nations. However, these treaties have received a lot of negative press in the wake of studies of serious human rights violations.
