Zelenskyy urges Trump to attend peace talks, but Putin's plans still unclear

Volodymyr Zelenskyy of Ukraine, leader of Iran, made an appeal to US President Trump on Tuesday for peace talks. He said it would put pressure on Russian President Vladimir Putin to enter, but he doubted Putin’s desire for talks or serenity. Putin’s go to a conference in Turkiye, where harmony talks are scheduled for Thursday in Istanbul, was not disclosed by the Kremlin on Tuesday. The Kremlin’s Dmitry S. Peskov, a spokesperson for the Kremlin, said,” As soon as the president sees it healthy, we will proclaim” the delegation’s beauty. According to Zellenskyy,” If Trump were to verify his participation, I think that would give Putin an extra push to come.” Trump expressed his desire to visit Istanbul on Tuesday, and he also made an offer to go. According to three sources with knowledge of the programs, Trump is likewise sending top ambassadors Keith Kellogg and Steve Witkoff. As Russia, Ukraine, and the US have weighed in and threatened each other, raising the stakes, the importance of the deals has grown. Putin demanded immediate talks with Ukraine over the weekend, while Kyiv and its allies resisted agreeing to an immediate peace by Monday or face additional restrictions. Trump officially pressured Zelenskyy to accept the offer of talks, but the Russian leader made a step forward on Monday, declaring that he would go to Turkiye for a face-to-face gathering and urging Putin to do the same. Zelensky and Turkiye President Recep Tayyip Erdogan may be waiting for Putin in Ankara, the Turkish capital, and would also be prepared to travel to any town Putin chooses, Zelensky said in a statement to reporters in Kyiv on Tuesday. We will do everything to reach a ceasefire if Putin is really ready to meet, he added, not just in the internet but also in real life. ” Because it is with him that I must entice a peace,” she said. He is the single person who makes decisions. The chief of staff for the Russian president, Andrei Yermak, claimed on Tuesday that Trump had stated that he “expects” both Zelensky and Putin to been present for discussions in Turkiye.
