The Willamette River’s treatment on Saturday marked the tenth lifeless body discovered in Portland, Oregon, since the middle of April.
Following the discovery of eight body from the Willamette and Columbia Rivers since April, the Multnomah County Sheriff’s Office released a press release earlier this month. The Multnomah County Sheriff’s Office stated at the time that eight dead body had been recovered, compared to six in April and May of 2024, according to the Multnomah County Sheriff’s Office. The sheriff’s department said,” The amount is not strange, though it is tragic.”
The cause and manner of death are still being investigated and determined by the physician examiner. The majority of the eight bodies discovered in April and May are the result of swimming, according to the Multnomah County Sheriff’s Office. Also, the Multnomah County Sheriff’s Office has no reason to believe there is any wary action or that there is any connection between the body.
Water tides, the natural degradation process of human body combined with higher water temperature, and increased river exercise, according to the Multnomah County Sheriff’s Office, among other things that contribute to the discovery of numerous dead bodies in the Portland area river at this time of year.

KPTV reported that Oregon people were also surprised to learn about the revelation of a 10th dead body on Saturday despite the Multnomah County Sheriff’s Office’s claim that the Portland area river have” not unusual” lifeless body.
” I’ve been on these water systems since 2008, and I think this is the most I’ve actually seen where it’s only one thing after another, and it’s just sad,” E. J., a native resident, told KPTV.
The neighborhood native reported to KPTV that a colleague of his had recently passed away in the Columbia River. You don’t believe you know everything that is for certain, he said, and it can happen to anyone.
” I make sure I have my safety gear, my fire extinguisher, my oars, I let people know where I’m going, and I let people know that I’ve made it safe,” E. J. said. Because I’ve been out in the sea and I’ve been out on these lakes, and all may change in a couple of hours, and if you’re not prepared for it, the worst may happen, I urge you to “absolutely plan for the worst and hope for the best.”
