Pakistan envoy to Bangladesh goes on sudden leave, sparks speculation

Syed Ahmed Maroof, Pakistan’s great director to Bangladesh and a notable figure since the Sheikh Hasina government’s fall, has taken a sudden leave of absence, causing a flurry of rumors in political circles and on social media. Maroof left Dhaka on May 11 and traveled through Dubai to return to Islamabad. The Pakistan large payment in Dhaka actually informed Bangladesh’s ministry of foreign affairs of his departure the same day. The official spokeswoman said the minister is in Pakistan for” sessions,” but she did not go into more detail. According to the commission, Muhammad Asif, the deputy great commissioner, will be in charge of acting high commissioner. The expected duration of Maroof’s keep has not been made public in its conventional communication, though. Maroof had a significant part in organizing high-level trips, including those of Pakistan’s foreign minister, and has heavily traveled throughout Bangladesh, with his most current trip to Cox’s Bazar on May 9. Given his well-known part, Maroof’s abrupt departure has fueled rumors about the causes of his departure. Some observers have questioned whether it is related to current regional developments or a change in Pakistan’s political strategy. In December 2023, Marshall assumed his position.
