Kremlin says Putin-Zelensky meeting possible only after agreement

A moment after Moscow and Kyiv held their first clear talks in more than three times, which did not lead to a ceasefire, the Kremlin stated on Saturday that a meeting between Russian President Vladimir Putin and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky may be possible just after both sides reach an agreement. Nine people were killed and five were hurt in a Russian drone strike on a bus carrying evacuated citizens in the northeast Sumy place the morning after the talks, according to local authorities. In the days following the attack, Zelensky wrote on social media that” there was an opportunity to begin fire,” adding that” Russia merely retains the opportunity to continue killing.” He once more urged the supporters of Ukraine to impose more stringent sanctions on Moscow. There won’t be any real diplomacy it, the Ukrainian president said,” Without stronger punishment, without stronger force on Russia,” the president said. The first primary discussions between Ukraine and Russia in Istanbul since the spring of 2022, which came soon after Moscow’s massive invasion that February, led to a legally binding agreement to exchange 1, 000 prisoners for each. Rustem Umerov, the country’s best negotiator, claimed that a conference between Zelensky and Putin would be the “next action.” Russia asserted that it was aware of the demand. The Kremlin’s official said,” We consider it possible, but just as a result of the work and upon achieving specific effects in the form of an agreement between the two edges.” Vladimir Medinsky, the best communicator for Russia, stated without a doubt that Moscow and Kyiv had “present their perspective of a possible potential ceasefire.” According to the Kremlin, the POW transfer must be finished second, and both parties must present their ideas for a ceasefire before starting the next round of negotiations. For now, according to official Dmitry Peskov,” we need to do what the representatives agreed on tuesday” in Turkey, adding that” this, of course, means first and foremost to finish a 1, 000 for 1, 000 transfer.” Kirillo Budanov, the head of Ukraine’s military intellect, stated to TSN that he anticipated the transfer would take place the following week and that he didn’t see any obstacles to the process. There were no indications of a stoppage of the battle on Saturday as a result of battle. Local community leader Yuri Zarko reported to Suspilne Television that the vehicle was attacked close to the city of Bilopillya. Three members of a family died in the attack, according to the government. The Russian army claimed that its troops had taken control of Oleksandropil community in the eastern Donetsk place, where some of the most bloody battles are still taking place. Russia blew up missiles and uavs fired from Sumy across eastern Ukraine, striking the areas of Kherson, Kharkiv, and Zaporizhzhia, killing six people and injuring more than a few. On Saturday night in Kherson, Russian shells struck a vehicle carrying humanitarian assistance. True steps’ required European President Emmanuel Macron said he was certain that Donald Trump’s comments about Ukraine following the fatal bus attack would be shared by him. Putin declined to attend the meeting in Turkey. He was accused of being “afraid” and Russia of never taking the discussions” really” by Zelensky. Everyone in Istanbul saw a poor and prepared Russian delegation with no considerable powers yesterday. This needs to alter. We need to take decisive actions to put an end to the war,” Zelensky said on Saturday. Russian Foreign Ministry reported on Saturday that US Secretary of State Marco Rubio and his Russian counterpart Sergei Lavrov had a positive experience of the conversations in Istanbul. Zelensky urged a” strong effect” from the world if the Istanbul deals failed, including fresh sanctions, at a European summit on Friday in Albania. In response to Moscow’s continued refusal of an “unconditional ceasefire,” Macron claimed that Western nations were cooperating with Washington on more sanctions. Moscow and Washington have discussed the necessity of a meeting to discuss Putin’s relationship with US President Donald Trump. Trump has argued that “nothing will occur” on the issue until he confronts Putin in person. The Russian side claimed that Russia was “making unacceptable” geographical demands during the Istanbul discussions. Moscow claims annexation of Crimea and five other Russian provinces, four of which were annexed in 2014, as well as Crimea, which it annexed in 2014.
