American climber Kenton Cool made the 19th attempt to climb Mount Everest, breaking a report for the most ascents of the nation’s highest top by a non-Sherpa man on Sunday morning. According to the company AP, the 51-year-old was reportedly in good health as the voyage was led by Iswari Paudel of Himalayan Guides Nepal, which confirmed this. Cool, a native of Gloucestershire in southwest England, initially climbed Mountain in 2004 and has since done so almost yearly. His walking routine was merely halted in 2014, 2015, and 2020, when Mountain expeditions were both postponed due to dangerous avalanches or the Covid-19 crisis. The completed man was accompanied by Dorji Gyaljen Sherpa, who completed his 23rd rise while doing the same rise, according to The Himalayan Times. They reached the summit at around 9:15 am, following the route used by Sir Edmund Hillary and Tenzing Norgay in 1953, the common Southeast Ridge way. Cool’s accomplishments were well-known in the climbing industry. According to Adrian Ballinger of Alpenglow Expeditions,” His experience, personality, and strength make him a significant part of the Everest neighborhood.” He only “is a great person with stories from his 20 years of climbing,” according to AP. Kami Rita Sherpa, a legend from Nepal, still holds the record for summits in the world and is working on it. According to Reuters, Nepal, which holds eight of the 14 highest mountains in the world, has issued 468 Mountain climbing permits this year, each costing$ 11,000. Mountain missions typically end at the end of May, before the monsoon season begins, during the springtime when they are most common. Additionally, Cool has achieved other objectives in high-altitude walking. He became the first American climber to summit Mt Nuptse, Mt Everest, and Mt Lhotse in a single year in 2013. According to The Himalayan Times, he reached Lhotse less than 29 days after climbing Mount Everest in 2021.
