The Department of Transportation, which is headed by President Donald Trump, recently released a statement indicating that the violence prices for cruise ships leaving the United States have reached a two-year higher.

From January 1, 2025, to March 30, 2025, 48 alleged crimes were reported on cruise ships, according to a statement from the Department of Transportation. According to the information the Department of Transportation provided, 23 of the alleged crimes were classified as assault incidents, 10 as sexual attack, and seven as severe bodily harm assaults.

Robert McDonald, a former Secret Service special adviser and criminal justice lecturer at the University of New Haven, said to Fox News about the latest report on cruise ship violence rates,” Sometimes, the cruise lines don’t want to document this information on the front end, depending on what kind of violence it is, which brings terrible attention to them, just as it would when we have airplane situations or the delays in airplanes that we’re having now.

The economy, which wants people to come to it and feel comfortable spending their money, is under a black sky, according to McDonald, who added.

Fox News reported that two unlawful immigrants were detained on March 21 after allegedly molesting a small on a Royal Caribbean cruise that departed from Miami, Florida, as an example of a new crime reported on a cruise ship. After the two illegal immigrants reportedly masturbated in front of a 14-year-old child, forced the child to reach them, and forced the child to do a sexual act, the outlet reported that Ricardo Daniel Leal, 37, and Jose Prudencio Diaz, 36, were facing child molestation and exhibition charges.

Another incident occurred on April 26 when dozens of Carnival Cruise Line passengers brawled as they left a cruise ship, according to Fox News.

According to McDonald, the number of people confined to a confined space on cruise ships is frequently correlated with a higher rate of crime.

The criminal justice lecturer told Fox News,” Whenever we get large numbers of people together, whether it’s at a Super Bowl game, a World Series game, an NBA Finals or graduations,” I believe that makes it easier for numbers to rise in that regard.

” Anytime we get together, those numbers are going to go up, whether it’s on a cruise ship or at a resort,” McDonald continued.
