‘I’m angry that I exist, the end goal is…’: Chilling audio by Guy Edward Bartkus reveals true motive behind Palm Springs IVF clinic blast
FBI confirms Guy Edward Bartkus, 25, is dead suspect in Palm Springs fertility clinic bombing (Photo: X)

The motive behind the Saturday bombing at a fertility clinic in Palm Springs, California, has been revealed through a disturbing 30-minute audio. The recording was made by the suspect, Guy Edward Bartkusn reports BNO News. The 25-year-old man described himself as a “pro-mortalist” and “anti-life,” expressing deep anger about his existence and the IVF industry.Bartkus shared the recording online where he explained his decision to attack the American Reproductive Centers clinic. “I figured I would just make a recording explaining why I’ve decided to bomb an IVF building, or clinic,” he said at the start of the audio. Explaining what social media has described as an “anti-life stance,” Bartkus said: “Basically, it just comes down to I’m angry that I exist and that, you know, nobody got my consent to bring me here.”‘Stupid’ to have kidsHis views stem from a philosophy called promortalism, which argues that life is suffering and that it would be better to end existence sooner rather than later. On his website, Bartkus further described his beliefs, rejecting the idea of prolonging life and blaming people who choose to have children. “I’m very against [IVF], it’s extremely wrong. These are people who are having kids after they’ve sat there and thought about it. How much more stupid can it get?”Death as inevitable In a frequently asked questions (FAQ) section in his website, Bartkus explained that promortalism is not about supporting violence or “psycho killers,” but about accepting death as inevitable and avoiding unnecessary suffering for all sentient beings. He criticised pro-lifers, calling them “stupid” and “willing agents for a DNA molecule,” accusing them of ignoring the harm caused by continuing life.

Best friend SophieBartkus also shared a personal story about his best friend Sophie, who held similar beliefs and recently died by suicide. He wrote, “IIRC we had agreed that if one of us died, the other would probably soon follow.” Sophie Tinney, 27, died in Fox Island, Washington, after allegedly convincing her boyfriend to shoot her while she was sleeping. Her boyfriend, Lars Eugene Nelson, 29, was charged with second-degree murder.1 dead, 4 injuredLaw enforcement officials say Bartkus was the only person killed in the bombing, though four others were injured and taken to a hospital. The IVF clinic was closed during the attack, and all stored embryos are believed to be unharmed. The suspect had also attempted to film the bombing by setting up a tripod with a camera, but the footage failed to upload to his website, according to sources quoted by BNO News. The FBI called the attack an “intentional act of terrorism“. Authorities are still working to formally identify Bartkus’s remains.‘Would choose satan over your evil god’When asked what kind of philosophies he believed in, Bartkus pointed to ideas like Negative Utilitarianism, Efilism, and Abolitionist Veganism. He described them as beliefs that reject religion and instead focus on reducing harm for sentient beings. “Basically, philosophies that have realized religion is retarded, but that there is objective value in the universe, and it lies in the harm being experienced by sentient beings,” he explained. “So, although it all may seem ‘dark’, it’s the polar opposite of nonsense like nihilism.”In response to a message saying he would burn in hell, Bartkus wrote: “I know, not a question. But I just wanted to say, your god definitely doesn’t exist, but if he did, I’d choose satan over your evil god. Did you ever think that maybe the bible is just slander against satan, and that satan just realized what a f***g creep your god is?” End goal: ‘Sterilise the planet of the disease of life’Bartkus said the ultimate aim of his beliefs was for what he called “the truth”, a philosophy known as Efilism, to take over. “The end goal is for the truth (Efilism) to win, and once it does, we can finally begin the process of sterilizing this planet of the disease of life,” he explained.
