The Novavax Covid-19 vaccination was approved by the Food and Drug Administration on Friday, but only for adults over the age of 12 who have at least one clinical condition that puts them at high risk for Covid. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s academic advisers have been debating whether to just advise Covid shots to the most resilient Americans. They generally make decisions regarding who and when may get approved shots. At least some of their discourse appeared to be redundant because of the FDA’s decision. The new limitation did severely restrict exposure to the Novavax vaccine for those who are in good health and are younger than 65. Prior to now, the vaccination had been permitted for use in emergencies. In 2022, Pfizer and Moderna’s Covid vaccines, which are more popular with Americans, received complete authorization. The new users imply a more restrained view from the FDA for organizations working on updated shots for the collapse. The health minister, Robert F. Kennedy Jr., and the other leaders he has appointed to the heath agencies, have a high level of skepticism about vaccines in their new restrictions on the FDA.
