According to the nearby rescue organizations, at least 22 people were killed in Israeli airstrikes on Monday across the Gaza band as the Israeli government continued to advance with its increased operations there. According to Mahmud Bassal, a legal defense company spokesperson, the heavyest bombardments hit the southeastern town of Khan Yunis, where 11 people were reported killed and several others injured. In local Abasan, another person was reported dead. In the northeast, an airstrike struck a market west of Jabaliya that left five people dead. Three members of the same family were killed when their camp was struck in Nuseirat, along with the rest of Gaza. In a separate attack on a camp in Gaza City, two more people were killed. According to Bassal, there have been reports of deaths at the Indonesian clinic in Beit Lahia, but continued shelling has prevented rescuers from retrieving the bodies. The Israeli government was accused of encircling the hospital, which Hamas-run Gaza, and effectively rendering it non-operational. The Israeli government said on Monday that it was going to continue its newly expanded procedures, saying it was “operating throughout the Gaza Strip.” The latest casualties come as the country’s population struggles to get essential services and health care.
