Two previous St. Louis Metropolitan Police soldiers are accused of leaving a shooting survivor to die because their move was about to end.
The film that was uncovered by Missouri train KMOV First Alert 4  shows then-Officers Austin Fraser and Ty Warren searching a garden where they discovered fatally wounded Urayoan Rodriguez-Rivera, who had called 911 to say he was going to commit suicide. Rodriguez-Rivera is still breathing and is discovered by the police as a surprise after taking the visit.
One officer can be heard saying,” Damn, he’s right there,” on body-worn camera footage taken by Warren ‘s .
Rodriguez-Rivera is still alive, according to the soldiers. However, his spouse rejects Warren’s suggestion to take the victim elsewhere for assistance.
” We’re not taking s-t,” Fraser said. ” I leave in 30 days.”
After they jokingly exit and wait for another officers to answer, Fraser therefore suggests to Warren to” cruise around and come back.”
They’re going to find this ( expletive ), and we’re going to be like,” Oh, ( expletive ), you found him,” Fraser told Warren.
About ten minutes later, the couple appear to have just arrived on the scene for the first time. While Fraser and Warren stick to their plan to play stupid, a second officer calls for emergency services.
The condition is then handled by various officials as Fraser and Warren leave the scene a next day.
Another officer is heard telling the pair as they go about doing exactly that,” You can’t just leave.”
The 29-year-old prey was then taken to a hospital in the St. Louis area, where he succumbed to a gun to his head 40 minutes after dialing 911.
According to First Alert 4’s statement, the state of Missouri accused the former officers of “reckless disrespect” for how they handled that September 2023 event. Following a records request, the Missouri media outlet obtained the footage next month.
No firearm was found at the image, despite Rodriguez-Rivera’s death being apparently determined suicide.
Both officials had been relieved of their duties, according to a police office member who spoke to the Daily News.
The St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department’s common interests and details director, Mitch McCoy, said in a statement that” the two people are no longer employed by the office.” SLMPD holds its soldiers to the highest standards, while we are able to comment on specific staff issues. If an agent is found to have broken the rules, correct administrative action will be taken.
According to First Alert 4, the tragedy resulted in the revoke of Warren’s harmony officer permit. On Tuesday, a Missouri state-wide administrative reading was scheduled for Fraser.
State officials informed the Daily News that the benefits of the hearing will be made public after 30 times. After revoked, a state’s attorney’s license to practice law cannot be reinstated.
