
A former Ukrainian politician was shot and killed by unknown gunmen on Wednesday morning outside a university in a rich Madrid suburb, according to the interior ministry of Spain. A Ukrainian member was shot at 9.15 am outside the prestigious American School of Madrid in Pozuelo de Alarcon, according to Madrid authorities after receiving a call. According to a resource from the interior ministry, “many people shot him in the rear and the mind and then fled to a wooded area.” Andriy Portnov, 51, was a senior advisor to Ukraine’s pro-Russian past president Viktor Yanukovich, who was ousted in a 2014 famous revolt. Portnov left for Russia the same year, and he has been the subject of global punishment as well as international studies in Ukraine due to allegations of treason and embezzlement, but the costs and EU sanctions have since been dropped. He was placed on the restrictions record by the US Treasury Department in 2021.
