If technology companies don’t move their creation to the US, President Donald Trump made it clear on Friday that Samsung would also be subject to new taxes on smartphones.

” It would be more,” he said. Trump said to reporters after signing executive orders for strength at the White House,” It would also be Samsung and anyone that makes that goods, otherwise it wouldn’t be fair.”

He continued,” That’ll start at, I suppose, the end of June when it’ll be available.” By the end of June,” I believe we’ll have that done adequately.”

Trump responded to a question on Friday morning when he said he had the authority to tariff Apple at a rate of 25 %. His Oval Office encounter was occasionally interrupted by repeated enquiries claiming to be from Congress users.

He quickly revealed to the media that he was using an iPhone. Trump responded,” Yeah, it’s fortunate it is.”

Trump praised Apple CEO Tim Cook, who donated$ 1 million to the president’s inaugural committee after the 2024 election and promised in February to invest$ 500 million in the U.S. on jobs like artificial intelligence, silicon engineering, and skills development for students and workers across the country.

Trump compared Cook to Cook, saying,” He said he’s going to India to plant flowers.” I said,” It’s okay to visit India, but you won’t buy into this country without tariffs.” And that’s how it is.

Trump asserted that Apple could produce its products in the United States for the same amount as it could abroad, citing that” a lot of it’s thus computerized.”

The White House is threatening tariffs as it ramps up its attacks on retailers like Walmart, which warned customers last week that they may begin paying higher prices due to the government’s obligations. Trump reacted by telling the dealer this week to “eat” his taxes.

Trump said on Friday,” Sometimes the country will have it, some will have it, others will take it,” adding that there will also be” some extras,” as well. ” I don’t want the customer to pay,” the statement read.

When questioned about how hurting American businesses he responded, Trump replied,” They’re certainly hurting. Because they are helping Americans, they are contributing. We’re generating a lot of work in America like you’ve never seen before. We’re making investments in America. We’re not being taken advantage of by every nation in the world.

If buildings are constructed in India, TRUMP TO TARIFF APPLE 25 % Right.

Trump also made an announcement on Friday night that he would start imposing a 50 % tax on EU goods starting on June 1.

Later in the Oval Office, he said,” I’m not looking for a deal.” We’ve set the bargain, I mean. There is no price if they build their grow here, but it’s at 50 %. Now, if someone wants to build a flower here, I can speak to them about a little pause, but we’ll probably decide that while they’re working on it, which I believe would be ideal.
