The City of Paramount wrote in a Facebook post on Wednesday that” We are deeply saddened and troubled to review that the Paramount Armed Forces Memorial’s” Battlefield Cross and Soldier” art part has been stolen and vandalized.
The Battlefield Cross and Soldier is a copper sculpture that depicts a U.S. man squatting and honoring a fell other man, according to KTLA. A rifle and a military hat, which resembles the fallen man and forms a typical defense sign known as the” Soldier’s Cross,” serve as the soldier’s representative. The Battlefield Cross and Soldier at the Paramount Armed Forces Memorial, according to KTLA, were initially unveiled in November of 2024.

The Battlefield Cross and Soldier Memorial is depicted in a photo shared by KTLA 5 Morning News.
According to KTLA, the perpetrators of the most recent theft event appear to have stolen the bronze weapons that was a part of the Battlefield Cross and Soldier, along with damage to the defense monument in Los Angeles County.
