A Guatemalan attorney’s office is increasingly using criminal laws against previous prosecutors, judges, defense attorneys, journalists, and other people, according to a UN expert’s warning on Friday after her two-week visit came to an end. Guatemala’s deputy prosecutor was among the people meeting with judges, professionals, politicians, and others, including the UN Special Rapporteur on the independence of judges and professionals. In her initial report, Satterthwaite alleged that the Prosecutor General’s Office’s acoustic use of criminal law constituted a systematic pattern of deliberate and extreme poverty of fundamental right, targeted at particular groups. ” This persecution seems to be growing as more and more people are being targeted for online harassment, threats, and legal charges,” according to the report from the Guardian. Consuelo Porras, who has been imprisoned by the United States and other nations and accused of being a drag in corruption studies, leads the company. Porras and her team met with Sattwaite. According to the UN professional, they told Satterthwaite that they acted within the rules, denied using criminal law to prosecute critics, and claimed that they were the actual subjects of attacks by the professional tree and its supporters. More than 60″ justice operators” and defense or human rights attorneys have been subject to criminal charges, according to Satterthwaite, who noted that the prosecutor’s office has forced more than 50″ justice operators” into exile. Porras ‘ office later stated that it did not concur with Satterthwaite’s preliminary report because it did not adequately account for” the complicated job that we do, nor the comprehensive information that was provided,” The office said,” We firmly reject the idea of a” criminalization of sectors.” Our decisions are based on thorough, achievement studies that rigorously adhere to the Guatemalan legal framework. Bernardo Arevalo, leader, has tried repeatedly to persuade Porras to step over. His office said it concurred with Satterthwaite’s studies about the” criminalization” carried out by the justice system and the attorney’s office, which the senator has repeatedly called consideration to.
