According to the US Department of Justice, a two citizen of the United States and Germany has been accused of using Molotov cocktails to threaten US President Donald Trump online. Joseph Neumeyer, 28, who claimed to be the founder and CEO of a strange business called Atlas Light Company, was deported from Israel and detained on his way to New York on Sunday. He made his first appearance in court and was ordered to remain in custody until the test. Neumeyer visited Israel in April 2025, according to the US Justice Department. He allegedly attempted to launch a firebomb attack last week when he showed up with a suitcase outside the US Embassy in Tel Aviv. He spat on a security guard, attempted to flee the scene, and left his case behind. Numerous Molotov cocktails, explosive devices containing explosive wet, were discovered when Israeli officials searched the backpack. He was eventually tracked down to a local motel and detained. Additionally, he is said to have posted threats to assassinate President Trump. He was accused of using an explosive or fire to burn down the US Embassy, and if found guilty, he could spend at least five times and up to 20 years in prison. The National Security and Cybercrime Section of the Eastern District of New York is handling the case, with assistance from FBI headquarters, the Diplomatic Security Service of the Department of State, and Israeli government. Neumeyer is still being held in jail pending more legal trials.
