When occurring during the course of mortal activities.

I hope that anyone reading this will immediately recognize that statement. Despite my initial concern, I don’t think an United high school or college student would do it. It’s the first seven thoughts of the Declaration of Independence, therefore, for those who have attended American public schools for the past few years.

We hold these principles to be universal, that all men are created equal, that they are given certain inherent right by their Creator, among them are Life, Liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. That governments are established among men to stable these rights and deriving their just power from the consent of the governed.”

We ignore how dramatic this speech was in every way. It asserts as an assumption that all people have rights that no government can withdraw, just like a state is reform gravity, as an assumption akin to saying a group can have any centre and radius. Jefferson and his contemporaries had received education in mathematics, rationale, and reason in methods that have become outdated today.

Then they waged a war, which lasted for many years, to defend those rights, and therefore set out to prove themselves right. What constitutes a country is another crucial explanation: a group of people with a common tradition, history, and identification is now defined as a nation.

By doing this, they granted themselves the right to become a condition, or a union of states, which would make up the physical home of the people of those thirteen former English colonies of North America.

The Confederatio Helvetica, or Switzerland, was founded as a union of counties, but their guiding process was that they didn’t want to be a vassal of the Habsburgs. This was a novel concept. Because they resisted remaining a state of Spain, the Dutch established a state. Jefferson added a new Renaissance ideal, a universal concept that people were entitled to the right of Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness,” to which the Laws of Nature and of Nature’s God entitle them.” The European and the Dutch rejected outside power. This made the United States unique.

We’ve been fighting that notion and that country for 249 centuries, especially those who adhere to those tidy old Enlightenment principles.

It hasn’t been simple or inexpensive. In a few years, we had to battle Britain once more. We fought in two world wars and several smaller war in defence of the rights of people to be free from the 1850s to the 1865 years, at the cost of three-quarters of a million fatalities.

We remember those who fought and died to defend and advance those right on this Memorial Day, men and women of any race, religion, landscape, or lineage.

The conflict is still ongoing. There are always those who think they have the right to act and to be ruled, or as Jefferson affectionately called them, the” Aristocrats.” This is why it will never be over. However, it’s a noble cause, a valuable fight, and one worth protecting.
