Harvard Is Hurting Its International Student-Athletes With Its FAFO Behavior

Because Harvard is still in the Po level of FAFO, everyone should get their little strings up. The Ivy League steadfast was a victim of widespread hatred, and now it is learning that President Donald Trump and his presidency were serious about outlawing foreign students from Harvard.

Kristi Noem, the secretary of the Department of Homeland Security ( DHS), requested information from Harvard’s international office last month regarding non-immigrant students at the institution and any misconduct they might have committed. Harvard declined to provide that data.

In a follow-up email on May 22, Noem wrote that” consequences must follow to signal to Harvard and all institutions that want to enjoy the privilege of enrolling international students that the Trump Administration will uphold the law and eradicate anti-Americanism and hatred in society and campuses.”

Noem added that Harvard’s decision to ban foreign students from Harvard was the primary outcome of the university’s “refusal to comply with numerous requests to offer relevant information to the Department of Homeland Security while perpetuating an unfriendly campus environment that favors pro-Hamas sympathies, employs racist’diversity, equity, and inclusion ‘ policies.

The presidency is still repressing Harvard, despite a temporary restraining order that was issued by a judge. And most people might not have considered the impact that banning foreign students would have on the college’s athletic programs.

The Athletic, however, managed to assign three reporters to write an article about it last month:” The Trump president’s decision to ban foreign students from attending Harvard may include wide-ranging effects on the school’s artistic sports program.” The report notes that, despite the temporary restraining buy,” the school’s players may not have much time to decide their next steps, depending on their game.”

While it’s simple to feel awful for these individuals who are caught in the crossfire, the contemporary environment of university sports offers some of these individuals choices. Students can transfer to other universities through the transfer portal. However, there is a problem: some sports ‘ transfer portal windows have been closed for the entire year.

” Transfer windows have come and gone for sports that have finished their regular seasons. For instance, the basketball portal period ran from March 24 to April 22 for men and March 25 to April 23 for women, according to The Athletic. ” Hockey’s transfer window was March 30 through May 13 for men and March 16 through April 29 for women.”

The Athletic included” several Canadians” who play hockey at Harvard, as well as two men’s and two women’s basketball players.

NCAA transfer windows will remain open for several weeks for many still-developing sports, such as baseball, softball, and lacrosse, according to the report.

If those students decide to transfer, the NCAA might grant them waivers. When a school suspends a particular sport, this is the most frequently used instance of a transfer waiver. In these circumstances, the NCAA hasn’t yet decided whether to grant international student-athletes a waiver to Harvard. Who is aware? If athletes are unable to transfer, the administration might grant them an exception.

I can’t bring myself to feel any sympathy for the school, but I really do feel bad for these hard-working kids who probably aren’t among the international troublemakers at Harvard. Harvard was duped, and it is now discovering the truth.
