CONCORD: US Coast Guard investigators have released videos from the moment the noise of an experimental submersible’s destruction hits the ocean’s surface. It was recorded as it was headed for the Titanic shipwreck in 2023. On its way to the Titanic disaster in the North Atlantic Ocean, the Titan disappeared on June 18, 2023, triggering a five-day research that ended with government reporting that all five people had died. Along with English navigator Hamish Harding, senior European diving Paul Henri Nargeolet, British-Pakistani business Shahzada Dawood, and his 19-year-old child Suleman, were CEO of the company that built the Titan. The implosion and an ongoing Coast Guard investigation sparked worldwide debate about the future of personal deep-sea journey. The Coast Guard last month released a two-and-a-half second videos showing Rush’s family, Wendy Rush, and an OceanGate staff monitoring the submersible’s descent from the Arctic Prince support ship following public hearings in September. In front of a laptop is Gary Foss and Wendy Rush in the picture. What was that knock? Rush asks after a lullaby like a shut door. The Coast Guard claims that the Titan’s implosion’s tone was what caused it to reach the ocean’s surface. We’ve lost tracking, Foss claims about 2 hours later. Following the collapse, concerns were raised about the Titan’s unorthodox design and its refusal to undergo independent safety checks. Operation OceanGate ended in July 2023.
