At the age of 17, he recorded the popular music” Stand on, Sloopy.” He collaborated with a diverse group of players, including Hulk Hogan,” Weird Al” Yankovic, and Barbara Streisand.

And he was a top-notch performer, composer, producer, and musician whose infinite energy made his life shows memorable.

According to his close pal Tony Wilson, Rick Derringer passed away at his Florida home. He was 77.

Derringer recorded the 1965 song” Stand on, Sloopy” as head guitar for a car group called The McCoys, which soared to the top of the charts. The Ohio State sports team adopted the music, and the Ohio government gave it the moniker” state stone music” in 1985. &nbsp,

Derringer had a long list of songs and actors on which to collaborate. Additionally, there were Bonnie Tyler, Johnny and Edgar, Alice Cooper, Todd Rundgren, Meat Loaf, Kiss, and Winter Brothers. He produced two Rundgren tracks, as well as six of” Weird Al” Yankovic’s tracks.

The market questioned the partnership with Weird Al. Derringer, however, was raised listening to Spike Jones ‘ 1950s innovation songs. The song” Never Hit Your Grandma with a Shovel ( Use an Ax )” by Jones was a true classic of the genre.

He collaborated with famous blues guitarist Johnny Winter, a guitarist who is regarded as a classic stone guitar. His greatest accomplishment as a recording artist was the saving of” Rock and Roll Hoochie Koo,” a song he wrote while performing with Johnny Winter. The song’s version by Winter is decidedly bluesy, whereas his own was very different:” The some I did with Johnny was more in line with his style. It was my chance to play and make what I imagined it could be when I did my type. I made the decision.

He and Edgar Winter collaborated on a number of songs, including the legendary” Roadwork,” which showcased Derringer’s outstanding lead guitar skills.

His 1973 single song,” All American Boy,” was regarded as one of the best rock solo debut songs in music history. This is just Rick Derringer’s most focused and coherent song, a marvelous fusion of artists, songs, and atmospheric tunes, according to author Cub Koda, who called it “one of the great songs of the ’70s that fell between the cracks.”

He and Hulk Hogan collaborated on the writing of their” True American” theme song in the 1980s.

Derringer was a vocal supporter of Donald Trump. &nbsp,

    New York Times:

According to The Sarasota Herald-Tribune, Mr. Derringer has since switched careers to work as a real estate agent in Florida.

He even attracted notice for his support for Donald Trump, which he amplified when he appeared with Roger J. in 2017. Stone Jr., a steadfast friend of Mr. Trump’s, appears on an Infowars radio. The website has been used to distribute conspiracy theories because it is visited by far-right followers of the president.

Mr. Derringer claimed on the program that Mr. Trump and former President Barack Obama have all played his” Real American” song in jest at the White House Correspondents ‘ Association dinner in 2011 and that several politicians have done so over the years.

His piano direct riffs were incredible. Derringer’s style was once referred to as “dangerous” because he would experiment with musical tricks just to unexpectedly resurrect and write a fantastic riff without fail, making it sound simple.

Derringer was the total package: a supplier, partner, manufacturer, guitarist, guitarist, and performer. He will be remembered as a classic 1970s guitar and one of the greatest stage players of all time.
