'I just knew he was up to something crazy': Hero marine tackles passenger trying to open plane door mid-flight

A destructive passenger was wrestled to the surface by a US Marine to stop him from making the emergency exit in midair. Sgt. Maj Jody Armentrout, 50, claimed his inclinations started to work on a man’s behavior on Saturday morning’s All Nippon Airways journey from Japan to Texas. The veteran Marine, who has served in the US Marine Corps for more than 20 years, said he initially noticed the rider wandering between rooms without thinking. He exited that one and began pacing up and down the hall, which only” threw my sensor on,” Armentrout told NBC News. You may certainly show there was something going on with his eyes. Armentrout jumped into action when the customer started tampering with an emergency leave. He pulled a rope around the door, and he said,” I took him, slammed him, and put him on the ground at that moment,” he said. Another older customer aided in restrainting the person while Armentrout zip-tied him to a chair. The man, who was apparently having a medical emergency, was taken to a hospital after the flight was diverted to Houston. According to the New York Post, he has not been charged. Armentrout, a Japanese company, claimed he was concerned for the safety of the passengers while he remained seated next to them for the duration of the trip. I was willing to risk him saying,” I’m not doing anything,” and then just them making him sit back down rather than me allowing him to do anything that would place anyone at risk, because I just knew he was up to something mad,” he said. Particularly since there were children and families on the trip, many travellers thanked the Marine for his quick judgment and courage. The episode didn’t stop it, though. Another rider, who is said to be upset about the distraction, punched a bathroom door when they arrived in Seattle. The FBI confirmed that Port of Seattle Police had removed this guy, as well, but that they had not been charged as of Wednesday. Armentrout just stated,” It was a strange trip,” when he refrained from referring to the event.
