As the country observes Republic Day, Kathmandu is gearing up for two criticism rallies on Thursday, one led by the ruling CPN-UML and the other by the nationalists. In honor of Republic Day, the Communist Party of Nepal-Unified Marxist Leninist ( CPN-UML) have demanded a cultural parade from Bhrikutimandap to Ratnapark. Party rulers, cadres, and artists are expected to attend the rally to exhibit historical processions promoting the democratic system. The royalists may begin their endless rally calling for the reconstruction of the king on immediately at the location where the protest has been routed through. Over 45 other aligned groups have made protests against the republic, including the Rastriya Prajatantra Party ( RPP ) and RPP-Nepal, as well as the royalist and Hindu nationalist parties. The Joint People’s Movement Committee for the Restoration of Monarchy, led by Navaraj Subedi, is organizing the principal opposition. The committee has stated that the protest will begin at Shanti Batika, close to the recognizable” RPokhari” or” Queen’s Pond,” which the committee has said is a” RPokhari.” Although both sides have held quiet demonstrations, tensions have risen in response to controversial remarks made by Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli, who claimed Kathmandu may get” under UML’s power” on Republic Day, provoking criticism from nationalist leaders. The nationalist leaders had stated that the demonstration would be calm, but they worried about potential state repression in light of the prime president’s remarks. Officials have prepared to build 4, 500 security personnel throughout Kathmandu to prevent potential unrest. In the city’s heartland, traffic disruptions and common annoyance are anticipated. The District Security Committee of Kathmandu has set the plans at different times in response to the potential conflict between the parties. Rishiram Tiwari, the general area officer of Kathmandu, coordinated with Rajendra Lingden, the party’s chairman, who had agreed to hold the royalist event only after the UML’s program was over. SSP Bishwa Adhikari, the police chief in Kathmandu, stated that a safety plan was created in collaboration with both functions. Lingden confirmed to the CDO that procedures are being made in accordance with the CDO’s assurance that the pro-monarchy software will begin in the evening. Additionally, UML has been given the task of finishing its function on time.
