Google makes case for keeping Chrome browser

Google makes case for keeping Chrome browser

Google pleaded with a US judge on Friday to back down on Google’s attempt to sever its Chrome website from its market share. After making a landmark ruling last year that Google maintained an illegal monopoly in research, Rivals ‘ prosecutors are now considering “remedies” to impose on him. Google’s removal of the Chrome browser is being requested by US federal prosecutors, who claim artificial intelligence is poised to increase the tech giant’s standing as the dominant portal to the internet. Additionally, they want to prevent Google from entering into agreements with companies like Apple and Samsung to spread its search tools, which the Silicon Valley world giant sued for. The testimony came to an end at the beginning of May, with Friday devoted to opposing factors ‘ legal claims and oral arguments before Mehta in a Washington court. There is no evidence to support a claim that people may have chosen a different search engine without the existence of luxury agreements, according to John Schmidtlein, an counsel for Google, according to Mehta. Even though Yahoo!, the US telecoms leviathan, owned by Verizon, was spotted installing Chrome on smartphones, Schmidtlein noted. a deal with Google and was not bound by it. Not one of the roughly 100 testimony at trial told the judge,” If I had more freedom, I may have installed Bing” online research browser from Microsoft,” the Google attorney claimed. Attorney David Dahlquist, a delegate of justice, refuted the claim that Google repeatedly asked Apple for more freedom after it was paid billions of dollars to produce Chrome the default computer for iPhones. Google contends that by recommending a subsidiary of Chrome and allowing the solution to force the sale of its Android mobile operating system, the United States has gone far beyond the scope of the lawsuit. As rivals like Microsoft, ChatGPT, and Perplexity work with relational artificial intelligence to retrieve data from the internet in response to customer queries, Chrome has the potential to be hampered or spun off. Five years prior to the launch of ChatGPT, which sparked AI passion, an online search antitrust lawsuit was brought against Google. Google is one of the tech companies that is intensely investing in AI, incorporating it into search and other online services.
