    France charges 25 suspects in crypto abduction cases

    In Paris, 25 people, including six minors, were detained over a string of robberies and attempted violence of prominent figures in France’s bitcoin industry, according to prosecutors on Saturday. According to the Paris public attorney’s office, “eighteen individuals have been placed in pre-trial incarceration, three have requested a delayed reading, and four have been judicially supervised,” adding that the suspects ranged in age from 16 to 23. The chief executive officer of the blockchain strong Paymium’s daughter and grandson were the targets of a May 13 theft test carried out in southeast Paris in broad light, according to the investigation into “attempted theft by an organized gang.” The investigation also includes “other ineffective plans,” according to the prosecution, including a scuffled operation on Monday near the western city of Nantes and an initial unsuccessful attempt on the same goals the day before. Authorities reported this week that they had stopped the Nantes violence and taken over 20 suspects into custody in connection with the plot that targeted Paymium boss Pierre Noizat’s family. Four masked males attacked Noizat’s girl, her father, and their baby in the French capital’s 11th district in the middle of May, according to images of that attempted abduction that was shared on social media. All three of them received minor wounds and were taken to the hospital. Eventually, Noizat praised his “heroic” son-in-law and a man who fought off the intruders with a dark fire extinguisher. The authorities discovered the new narrative near Nantes while conducting the investigation, according to a cause close to the event. The majority of the defendants were born in France, while others were born in Senegal, Angola, and Russia.
