The US Geological Survey ( USGS ) reported a 2. 4 magnitude earthquake in Long Beach late on Sunday night at 11.34 pm Pacific time. The earthquake, which erupted at a level of 7.6 yards, was felt less than a mile from Los Angeles, two miles from Carson, four yards from Signal Hill, and four miles from Rancho Palos Verdes. Over the past ten weeks, there haven’t been any tremors of scale 3.0 or greater in the area. The greater Los Angeles region experiences 59 disasters on ordinary annually in the 2.0 to 3.0 range, according to USGS information.
