Watch: Ukraine uses 1,100 kg of underwater explosives to hit Russia’s key bridge

Russia’s crucial bridge connecting Crimea and Ukraine has been damaged by an underwater blast, according to Ukraine’s security company. In a statement released on Tuesday, Ukraine’s SBU claimed to have used 1,100 pounds (2, 420 weight ) of bombs to attack the railroad and road bridge early in the morning. The 19-kilometer Crimea Bridge’s underground pillars were reportedly struck by the explosion over the Kerch Strait, a crucial military and civil connection between Russia and the island it annexed from Ukraine in 2014. In 2022 and 2023, we hit the Crimean Bridge half. So we continued this tradition underwater now, said the SBU, noting that the activity had been planned for some time. An blast occurred close to one of the support sections of the bridge, according to information obtained by the SBU. Reuters was unable to independently verify the location of the videos because it was matched to satellite and record images and Reuters could not determine when the movie was taken. The bridge’s function was suspended between 4 am and 5 am, according to the standard Russian outlet that provides status changes on the bridge. and local period of 7 am. Although it was confirmed that the gate had reopened and was operating normally, no formal explanation for the three-hour suspension was given. Since the Russian invasion of Ukraine first started in February 2022, the Crimea Bridge has been a crucial source point for Russian forces. Before moving into the southern Ukraine’s Kherson and Zaporizhzhia regions, Russian forces immediately entered Crimea via the bridge. At the crossing point between the Black Sea and the Azov Sea, the gate was one of Russian President Vladimir Putin’s biggest jobs, consisting of parallel road and rail areas supported by classic steel stilts and piers. Russian military blogs speculated that a water aircraft may have been used in the operation despite the SBU’s claim that the structure had been damaged and that the attempt may have failed. This incident comes after another Russian procedure on Sunday, when Russian long-range bomber planes were targeted by drones at Russian airports across Russia. According to reports, that assault was given the name” Spider’s Web.”
