Two South Florida sharks divers who were found guilty of cutting sharks and a giant grouper completely of what they thought to be an illegal fishing line thanked President Donald Trump for pardoning them. &nbsp,

Tanner Mansell, a person who greatly cares about the environment and has always wanted to help, chose to pardon me, whether people think of his political views or no, according to USA Today in a text message following his pardon. ” I can’t help but feel incredibly appreciative.”

When John Moore Jr. and Mansell encountered the column, freed 19 fish and the fishes from its hooks, and brought the line to sea, they were running a visitor shark-diving mandate in 2020. The two Palm Beach County residents called state wildlife officials to review the longline off the Jupiter Inlet after they said they thought it was an illegitimate shark fishing line. &nbsp,

Mansell and Moore claimed they didn’t believe they were committing a murder. The U.S. Attorney’s Office charged the men with theft because the longline was a permitted business setup. In 2022, a judge found Moore and Mansell criminal, but the pair avoided a jail term.

Only one of five warships worldwide permitted by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration to beach shark for study owned the long column. &nbsp,

According to the Palm Beach Post, the cost of the fish increased by several thousand dollars while the items only cost vehicle user Scott Taylor about$ 1,300. A prosecutor in Florida gave Moore and Mansell the order to pay Taylor$ 3,345 in damages and place him on one time of probation. &nbsp,

The two men will no longer be considered felons as a result of Trump’s pardon on May 28; this will grant them the right to vote, personal firearms, and travel openly abroad. &nbsp,

In a speech to the Associated Press, Mansell’s attorney, Ian Goldstein, stated that” this situation never should have been filed.” These gentlemen attempted to protect fish from what they believed to be an illegitimate longline fishing operation, but they made an honest error. I didn’t think of two people who are more befitting of a presidential pardon.
