In light of concerns that his father and his assistants covered up his cognitive drop, President Donald Trump has mandated an extraordinary investigation into former President Joe Biden‘s management.
In a national memorandum signed on Wednesday, Trump wrote that “in recent weeks, it has become increasingly clear that former President Biden’s aides abused the power of National signatures by using an autopen to cover up Biden’s mental decline and argue Article II authority.” ” One of the most risky and concerning crises in American history is… this crime.”
If President Biden’s advisors quietly used the electrical signature pen to suppress this incapacity while engaging in extreme administrative actions all in his name, that may form an unlawful wielding of the presidency, which would have an impact on the validity and legality of various professional actions taken in Biden’s name, the president added.
According to the document, the investigation, which will be led by White House Counsel David Warrington in collaboration with Attorney General Pam Bondi, aims to find out whether “certain people conspired to deceive the public about Biden’s emotional status and unconstitutionally training the authorities and responsibilities of the President.”
The memo details Trump’s desire to find out whether Biden’s aides conspired to fabricate his intelligence and flag the videos of his cognitive incompetence as fake.
The Attorney General and the head of any other relevant agency shall consult with the President’s Counsel on any issues relating to Biden’s alleged resumption of executive actions during his final years in office, according to the memo. The policy documents for which the autopen was used, including clemency grants, executive orders, presidential memoranda, or other presidential policy decisions, and ( i ) who ordered that the President’s signature be affixed, should be addressed in this investigation.
Ed Martin’s investigation into whether Biden “was competent and whether others were taking advantage of him through use of AutoPen or other means,” which Martin announced earlier this week, coincides with the memorandum.
House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer (R-KY), who is also interested in asking former Biden, aides, and his White House physician, Dr. KevinO’Connor, to sit for transcribed interviews before his panel, has launched their own investigations into Biden’s autopen use and whether he was in charge during his presidency.
Following the publication of Original Sin, a book by , Jake Tapper , and Alex Thompson last month, which details how Biden’s aides protected and shielded the former president, Biden’s cognitive decline is under renewed scrutiny.
