Unemployed self-described” stay-at-home boy” with a master’s degree just graduated from the top-rated television game” Jeopardy.”
The 27-year-old champion, Brendan Liaw, has a master’s degree in political science, and he won$ 59,398 in three of his three events last year, according to The Wall Street Journal.
” I figured at his request ,’Jeopardy’ number Ken Jennings introduced him as a’new graduate and stay-at-home child,” the Journal reported, quoting Liaw as saying:” I figured at least I may make people laugh” at the beginning of each show.
It succeeded, it said. Liaw’s self-deprecating laughter made him an over star on social media, where users claimed that he was “practically living their dream,” lol.
According to the Urban Dictionary, the word evidently dates back at least to 2007, but it’s still a reality, according to the Journal.
” This completion time is likely to result in a lot of stay-at-home brothers,” he said. The overall unemployment rate is 4.2 %, but 8.2 % of 20- to 24-year-olds are jobless. According to the report, the male employment rate in that age range is even worse, 9.6 %.
According to a university press release, Liaw earned a bachelor’s of knowledge in substance biology at the University of British Columbia in 2020 and completed his master’s degree that in 2024.
Liaw, in contrast, said he enjoyed the fun term because it sounded greater than “unemployed” while he was studying for the LSAT.
When you’re only, like, what am I doing, it can occasionally find a small dark. I’m simply at home here, he told the Journal. I would advise people to maintain their beliefs and “hang in there.” possibly prepare for” Jeopardy.”
