Despite the demonstrators ‘ predominance being mostly Latino, the effects were less racial polarization. Similar numbers of white and Hispanic people, 48 % and 44 %, respectively, disapproved of the riots, but only 35 % of black people did. No cultural group’s majority of the population was in favor of the demonstrations.

The general opinion of the protests regarding violence was dissented, with 36 % believing they were mostly peaceful, and 26 % unsure. White and Hispanic respondents shared the same viewpoints, with 38 % believing in violence and 36 % believing in peace. Black respondents were an outlier, with 44 % of them claiming to be mostly peaceful, while 22 % of them describing them as being mostly violent.

In terms of the response to the protests and riots, 56 % of people thought state and local authorities should take the lead, compared to 25 % who thought federal government does.

Following a string of Immigration and Customs Enforcement attacks in the area on Friday, aggressive protests broke out in Los Angeles. During the trip of protests, 50 people were detained, including for Molotov cocktail-related attempted murder, and five soldiers and horses were hurt with the Los Angeles Police Department. On Monday, President Donald Trump ordered 700 Soldiers to join the 2, 000 National Guard before moving 2, 000 of them.
