The recent mob attack that targeted Rabindranath Tagore‘s ancestral house in Sirajganj, Bangladesh, was condemned by Bangladesh’s unusual government on Friday. The government provided detailed information about the administration’s behavior. A criminal case had already been filed with the local authorities on June 10 following the incident. In connection with this incident, two people have also been detained. The region administration established a regional investigation board. The local government are taking appropriate legal steps, the statement read. The government further stated that Bangladesh commended and valued Rabindranath Tagore for his outstanding contributions to the nation’s cultural identity. It emphasized that both Bangladesh’s government and its citizens may continue to value his legacy. There was no location in the nation for any attempts to stir up conflict or scatter negativity about the artist or his tradition, according to the press release. On Wednesday, a mob attacked and vandalized Rabindranath Tagore‘s ancestral house in Sirajganj, Bangladesh’s Sirajganj city. In Shahzadpur in the Rajshahi section of Kachharibari, Tagore’s hereditary home is located. The Tagore family’s tax department is also here. While residing in this palace, Rabindranath Tagore wrote some of his artistic works. The Ministry of External Affairs ( MEA ) vehemently condemned the vandalism on Thursday. The MEA described it as a “violent” and “despicable” act that disrespected Tagore and the diverse ideals he embodied. Mahamata Banerjee, the chief minister of West Bengal, wrote to Prime Minister Narendra Modi earlier on Thursday, urging him to bring the issue up with Bangladesh and request that the neighboring nation” quickly bring to justice the perpetrators of this terrible and mindless act.”
