US President Donald Trump on Monday slammed the Barack Obama and Justin Trudeau management for excluding Russia from the G8 member governments which then became G7. Calling it a” major mistake”, he added that if he would have been the leader, there wouldn’t have been a Russia-Ukraine battle. ” The G7 used to be the G8. About nine times before, Russia was excluded, someone I believe was a major mistake. Back then, leaders like Barack Obama and Justin Trudeau did n’t want Russia involved, but had Russia remained at the table, perhaps we would n’t be facing a war today. If I was the leader 4 years ago, we would not have a battle right now,” he said. The G7 briefly became the G8 when Russia was included as a part, but the land was expelled in 2014 following its annexation of Crimea and first incursion into Ukraine—developments that laid the groundwork for its full-scale war in 2022. Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin had a telephone call on Saturday and the two agreed that the escalating conflict between Iran and Israel may come to an end. “President Putin called this day to very effectively want me a Happy Birthday, but to more important, talk about Iran, a state he knows very well, ” Trump wrote on Truth Social. “ He feels, as do I, this war in Israel-Iran should end, to which I explained, his war should also end, ” he added. The phone likewise briefly touched on Russia’s conflict in Ukraine and continued slave markets. Trump noted that while Ukraine was n’t the main focus of the telephone, they discussed future markets and Putin’s involvement in resuming harmony speaks after June 22.
