Past Western Carolina University individual rejecting systemwide DEI restrictions is exposed in a covert video released by Accuracy in Media.

A Western Carolina University executive claims that school officials incorporate diversity, equity, and inclusion into school programs despite a system-wide restrictions on the philosophy in a video that was recently released by Accuracy in Media.

The almost five-minute edited video features WCU’s Director of Institutional Assessment Karen Price saying,” We’re trying to integrate that kind of variety, capital, and inclusiveness across every area… it shouldn’t just be an office or a leader.

She continued to claim that DEI is still being practiced, but under a covert manner, after saying that if it is embedded anywhere, it cannot be legislated out.

You might just see it called various things because it is still happening pretty much here at Western, she said.

Despite the University of North Carolina Board of Governors ‘ next year, DEI practices and programs were prohibited systemwide.

The undercover movie was filmed by Accuracy in Media, a nonprofit organization dedicated to protecting human rights. Who did Price believe she was speaking to in the film is undetermined.

The group has released a second covert video targeting North Carolina institutions in subsequent weeks.

In another just released film, a University of North Carolina Charlotte national was caught saying,” If you’re looking for an apparent La place, it’s not going to happen. There are options, though, if you are interested in doing secret work.

In a second undercover movie, an UNC Asheville administrator said in relation to DEI work that she must “keep it peaceful” and that she “loves breaking rules” when asked if she keeps doing it on the “down-low.”

WCU posted a job listing for Price’s place two weeks after the incident, but her name is no longer visible in the registry.

The producer of administrative examination, which is featured in the movie, has no authority to make decisions regarding policy or compliance, according to Julia Duvall, the university’s communications manager, in an email. Dr. Price is no longer employed by WCU as of mid-April.

Officials there who were present at the Asheville and Charlotte schools even made similar statements to the media about their departures. The other two UNC officials who were recorded in the movies from those campuses are also no more employed.

The leaders in question believed they were speaking to” a fellow radical,” according to AIM President Adam Guillette, who previously told The Fix that the films were shot during the school year of 2024 and 2025.

Guillette attempts to speak with the college president and other administrators about the content of the WCU videos as she attempts to visit the school following the investigation. They resisted making comments.

90 universities across the country have had their La offices renamed, renovated, or rebranded in response to a recent College Fix study.

Guillette stated that more undercover films are on the horizon.

” Accuracy in Media is targeting extremists in higher education across the country. It is obvious that intellectual extremists have taken control of higher education. He told The College Fix via email that these institutions needed big reform, beginning with their leadership.

WCU confirmed to The Fix that the new rules are still in effect.

According to Duvall, “WCU dissolved its richness, equity, and inclusion company in accordance with UNC Policy commands,” but the university is conducting investigations to make sure staff and students are aware of the policy.

” Campus management is working to make sure that all employees understand and adhere to all applicable policies and laws, and is conducting a thorough evaluation of our student support services to make sure there is a consistent understanding of legislation compliance,” she said.

Further: Nearly 90 colleges have rebranded their Della offices.
