Officers immediately went to the Hoffmans ‘ home in Brooklyn Park, where his brother senator, former Minnesota House of Representatives Melissa Hortman, was staying.
When two Brooklyn Park officers arrived, they observed Boelter’s SUV, emergency lights flashing, and him standing a few feet from the house’s entrance, according to Thompson.
When Boelter saw the soldiers, he reportedly began firing and allegedly rushed into the home, killing Hortman and her husband, according to Thompson.

According to court records, after the murders, Boelter reportedly attempted to purchase an e-bike and a Buick in northeast Minneapolis around 7 a.m., went to a lender with a witness, and withdrawed$ 2,200 in cash.
